A Quick Guide: Evergreen Content
Evergreen content is information which is always relevant. This means that it will always drive traffic to your website, even long after it is initially
published. By creating evergreen content, it can ensure a strong and consistent range of information which will appeal to the target audience for time
to come.
There are many different reasons why someone might choose to create or use evergreen content, firstly it will ensure that traffic can be driven to the
site at a continuous rate. It could also improve the search engine ranking and therefore reposition the brand of the company within the industry.
Information which provides people with instructions on how to do something is a good example of evergreen content, one reason for this is that it will
always be needed by someone as a way of helping them out. For example, "How to make a cake" provides step by step information on baking a cake, and
therefore will always gain traffic when people are wanting information on how to make a cake.
However, some types of content are not considered 'evergreen', this can be due to many different factors, an example of this is different trends and statistics
can go out of if they are no longer relevant and therefore don't offer any long term value.
It is important that evergreen content is regularly updated. One reason for this is that it will ensure that it is relevant to the cause and will therefore
contain any new findings which could ensure that traffic is kept high.
